The Vails Gate Fire Department Tuition Assistance Program (VGFD-TAP) provides college tuition assistance to members and their eligible dependents.

The program is intended to support the recruitment and retention of volunteer firefighters to assure our community has adequate protection from fire and fire-related hazards.

The objective of the VGFD-TAP program is to enlist and/or retain volunteer firefighters who are trained in the operations of firefighting and emergency response.

We want to encourage high school and college age community members to volunteer and join the ranks of the VGFD. That encouragement and incentive for younger members to join and make a commitment now translates into higher education tuition assistance funds.

It is just one of the many benefits of joining the ranks of the volunteer fire organization.
